My Favorite Game

My favorite game is Minecraft. The game far exceeded my expectations, due to the fact that I didn’t think that it would be very good. Nod, the person who made the game probably spent a lot of time programming it, but spends no time fixing the errors and running efficiency. There is no information on how long it took to design it. Pictured below is a structure I designed in the game.

Demo

Yes, I do think I've learned more about my game by posting our demo because I realized how much work we needed to do. I aquired this knowledge because I realized how much work we have to do before we are done. I don't suggest any changes to Wikipedia to make my learning experince better.

Using Civics Ideas in STEM

Some ideas for using Civics in STEM would be to combine them into one. You can easily combine Technology and civics because they go hand in hand really easily. People vote on machines which are indeed technology. Science would also be an easy thing because you could combine politics and the engineering of better and safer sources of energy. Math could be combined with economics and other things such as the Stock Market. Engineering could be combined by the technology that is discussed in politics, such as I mentioned before, safer energy sources.

Favorite Gaming Console

My favorite gaming console is the Xbox 360. I think it has the most games out of the other modern systems. I dont like it because of gmes like Call of Generic, but I do for games like Rock Band and Assassins Creed. I think it has the widest veriety of games out of the other consoles, and Xbox Live is pretty useful in terms of it being user-friendly. I spend much more time on my computer than I do on my Xbox, and I would have chosen that over the Xbox, but I dont think that actually counts as a system. I spend about 6 hours on my computer and on Xbox every day.

Favorite Experience

My favorite experince in this class so far has to be the playing to learn. I was able to finally play games in a computer class at my school. I thought this was actually a great for for students to get accostomed and to like the class. It seemed like everyone enjoyed playing the games and they got off to a good staert in the class. I think that playingto learn should be kept, even if it is just playing games. Usually in a classd if we do nothing fun or rules are really strict I dont do good in the class and actually hate the class with a passion. But in this class I was actually able to enjoy myself from the very beginning and still am.

Veterans Day

Soldiers, in the past and the present deserve our respect because they are the ones fighting to protect our freedom and our country. Whether it's a soldier who serve in the navy, air force, or army, they all deserve our respect. Whether they served in world war two, or in the iraq war they deserve our respect. I think that they all deserve to be honored no matter what. Whether they are veterans or whether they are currently serving doesnt matter, because they all fought for our country.

Sound

We plan to use sound in our game by adding a better feel to it, because silence alone doesn’t add any sort of feeling to it. It will make the game more enjoyable to play and it will make the player want to continue on without quitting, thus making him learn more.

Animation

This Picture stands out to me because our game is entirely based around physics.
The name of the picture is main-physics

Visual Storytelling

I am using visual storytelling through my sequence of scenes to help players understand my topic. The way I am doing this is we're allowing the player to build the track and use the physics engine to help the player understand our game. No games I played in playing to learn had a storytelling experience, because none of them really had much of a story. Many other narrative games helped influence our game.

New understanding of game.

One thing ive learned about my game topic since I started this course is that it is very helpful to have some suggestions given to you and will vastly approve your game. I came to learn this from the reviews we recieved from the paper prototype. The sources did suggest such a thing and it indeed prove to be useful. What makes the sources informative and useful, are that they are written by people with more experience than us and they can give very useful information to the development of our game.

Paper Prototyping

This assignment has definatly helped me see how our game is going to work because we honestly didn't have much of an idea before this. This has allowed us to interpret our game and make it more clear and understandable than it was before. This is definatly going to help us in the process of actually making the game because we can now just go off our prototype and work from that. The only problem is that it will not help us with coding, but then again it wasn't intended to help us with coding, just helping us get the idea. Which it did succeed in.

Coding adventures

My experience writing code slightly changed my perspective about playing games. I feel I appreciate their work more than I did before, but I haven't completely changed my view about games. I still enjoy playing the games and will criticize major problems in the games, even after seeing how hard it is to ride code. I don't like to change drastically as a person so I'm not going to let the code writing change who I am.

The Games I played

The two games I played were Zeit Giest and The Codex of Alchemical Engineering. Both games were programmed well and didnt have any bugs, or at least I didn't see any. The Codex was very VERY fun and provided hours of puzzle solving. It is also a very large time waster trying to get your machienes to do what you want. Zeit Giest was made in Globaloria and was well programmed too. it didnt provide as many hours as Codex but it was still good. The only problem with Zeit Giest was its animations.

What I'm working towards...kind of

I want to make a game that people might actually like, or not hate at least. I'm not sure if I want to make a shooter or a puzzle game or what but i'll figure it out. Im excited about making the game, coding, and making music for it. But I am afraid of presenting it in front of a class, and our visitor.
